Oil Testing and Lubricants Analysis for Data Centers

Ensure Data Center Reliability Through Regular Oil Testing

Oil Testing and Lubricants
Analysis for Data Centers

As data centers become more unified and dependent on continuous uptime, monitoring the health of power and cooling systems is essential. Oil Testing and Lubricant Analysis in a preventive maintenance strategy provides early insights into equipment condition, helping prevent failures in generators, UPS systems, chillers, compressors, and pumps. Fluid analysis shifts maintenance from redundancy-based to predictive-based, improving reliability and operational performance.

Atlas Lab offers specialised oil and lubricant testing for data centers, analysing samples as per ASTM, ISO, and IP standards. As a NABL-accredited and ISO 17025-certified laboratory, we evaluate viscosity, oxidation stability, particle count, ferrous density, water content, wear metals, TAN/TBN, and additive depletion. These tests identify contamination, degradation, and early mechanical wear.

With decades of technical expertise and fast reporting, Atlas Lab helps data centers optimise maintenance intervals, reduce downtime, and ensure long-term equipment health. Our solutions provide a cost-effective, data-driven approach to maintaining critical infrastructure.

What are the benefits Oil Testing and Lubricants Analysis for Data Centers?

  • Identifies generator, chiller, pump, and compressor wear before it leads to failure.
  • Ensures critical systems operate smoothly, supporting uninterrupted data center uptime.
  • Transforms maintenance from redundancy-based to performance-driven.
  • Trend analysis helps facility teams forecast issues and plan upgrades effectively.
  • Enables condition-based maintenance instead of fixed intervals, reducing unnecessary servicing.

We test the following Data Center Equipment at our state-of-the-art Lab :

Power Train

  • Back-up generator engine oils
  • Coolants
  • Diesel fuel
  • Transformer oils

Cooling Train

  • HVAC systems
  • Humidifiers
  • Condensers
  • Chillers
